Snowboard Lessons




snowboard lessons are available to ages 10+

What will I learn?

You will receive a skill level card on your first lesson. This will be used to help monitor your progress.

The following guide explains each level and lesson content:

Level A - complete beginner

  • snowboard and safety check - introduction to equipment
  • basic snowboard stance
  • Walking and turning on the flat
  • Walking uphill - turning on the slope
  • Straight run (using run-out to stop)
  • Awareness of the Ski Way Code


Level B - learning to slide

  • Slide slipping - toe and heel
  • Diagonal side slip - toe and heel


Level C - controlling direction

  • falling leaf - toe and heel edge
  • Garlands - toe and heel


You are now ready for recreational practice


Level D - Improvers: Learning turns

  • Falling leaf - toe and heel - into fall line
  • Garlands - toe and heel - into fall line
  • Traverse - toe and heel


Level E - learning to turn

  • Basic turns
  • Linking turns


Level F - Advanced manoevres

  • advanced turns
  • Advanced turns (varied radius) 
     

All lessons must be booked and paid for in advance due to instructor allocation


Please ensure you have your arms and legs covered. Gloves are also required to go on to the slope
